Straight Down I-20 From Hickory

Hickory's whole draw here is that I-20 is already at your doorstep — you're not driving to the interstate, you're already on it. The 26 miles run mostly through Bienville National Forest land that stretches across Newton and Scott counties, so the drive is long stretches of tree line with the mile markers counting down instead of a string of towns. Watch for the Exit 88 signage as it comes up — it's your only turn on the whole trip, and once you're off, MS-35 south is a short, direct shot into Forest.

Thirty minutes is close enough that this doesn't have to be a special trip — it's a straightforward interstate hop, not a haul. Bring your MMCP card, ID, and cash or a debit card for the ATM if you need it. First visit gets 30% off, which is a nice return for a drive that's basically just one exit's worth of highway.
